The network of Miramichi Young Professionals and Involved Entrepreneurs, better known as MYPIE, is proud to announce the winners in each category that were announced at the 4th annual  MYPIE GALA and Awards Ceremony that took place on Saturday, April 21 at the Miramichi Agricultural Exhibition Association.

Jason McCarthy, MIECON Services

Jason McCarthy is the sole proprietor of MIECON Services (McCarthy’s Instrumentation, Electrical and Controls) for the past two years.  Jason has a strong reputation in his field of expertise and employs upwards to ten in his workforce.  The focus of his business remains in the industrial sector however he shows diversity from optimizing state of the art equipment at industrial plants, accomplishing installations, upgrades and retro fits to residential electrical services. 

Jason is a loyal Miramichier and is an active coach in various sports including ringette, hockey, baseball, and soccer.  MIECON Services is a major sponsor of the Chatham Junior Ironmen and supporter of other organized sports teams in our community.

Adam Hambrook, Hambrook Insurance

Adam Hambrook is one of the owners of Hambrook Insurance Inc. and operates The Co-operators Insurance Agency located in Miramichi.  Adam has been in his profession for close to seven years and the agency is one of the top producing agencies in their district. 

Adam believes that it is important to be involved in the community. He is currently on his fifth year serving on the Board of Directors for Downtowns Miramichi - Newcastle Business District and recently completed a two year term as the organization’s President. He was also a Co-Chairperson for the Fusion Festival in 2010. Adam has been involved with several projects at Harkins Elementary over the years including reading to children to promote literacy and promoting and judging several Science, S.T.O.P., and Heritage fairs.

Clarissa Harris-LeBreton

Clarissa is the Coordinator of Vision Health Promotion and Marketing for CNIB and was the organizer for the “Dining in the Dark” event in Miramichi with proceeds benefiting the CNIB organization.  Clarissa has a background in journalism and uses her skill sets and talents to promote and market health and safety issues. 

Clarissa is a board member of WOMEN (Women of Miramichi Entrepreneurial Network), volunteers with Mango Fun Run, she is a member of HEPAC (Healthy Eating and Physical Activity Coalition of NB), and she is a member of the Northumberland Wellness Network.  She has also volunteered for the Canadian Diabetes Association, Croft Elementary School, and Miramichi Literacy Council.

Pat King

Pat is a lifelong resident of Miramichi and has been an active member of the Kinsmen Club of Miramichi since 1995, logging in many hours of volunteer work with this organization.  Pat and his wife, Kelly were married in July 2008 and and built their home in the summer of 2009 in Miramichi East.  Pat works in the maintenance department at DEW Engineering as a purchaser.  He also has attained his Certified Human Resources Professional designation.

InPat volunteers for MS and CF not because of any family connections, but because he has met people that have these diseases and was so moved by their courage and strength that it led him to help in any way he could.  Pat has volunteered with the Kinsmen for 17 years and has been involved with and supportive of almost all non profit groups in Miramichi over those years.  Pat is, and continues to be, the guy to get things done. When a committee needs a kick start or someone to grab the bull by the horns, Pat is the guy.
