Angelia Goulet
Angelia Goulet was born and raised in Miramichi. At an early age, she learned the value of hard work and care for others; the two things she values greatly in her life. She studied Psychology at St. Thomas University, and won Miss New Brunswick Int’l which provided the opportunity to represent the beautiful Miramichi and Province at Miss Canada Int’l.
She believed from a very young age that she would have a career working with those who are in need of support. Angelia held jobs through school in customer service - waitressing, bartending, call centres. She eventually went to work as a Correctional Officer at The New Brunswick Youth Centre in Miramichi. When the Centre downsized and she was laid off from her position, she knew she was destined for public service and set her sights on the Federal Government. She started off as a General Support Clerk with the Apprenticeship Grants with Service Canada. From there she went on to work with Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security in Bathurst, travelling from her home in Miramichi, Monday to Friday. Eventually a position opened up in Miramichi, and she found herself back in Miramichi working with Apprenticeship Grants as a Payment Service Officer. Angelia likes her work at Service Canada because the organization strives for excellence, and makes positive contributions to the lives of others every day.
Angelia and her husband Kenny discussed opening a business for the past two years. It always seemed to be too expensive, not the right time, or definitely not the right fit for Miramichi. Then they walked into reLiSH Gourmet Burgers in Fredericton almost a year ago and the experience they had told them this business was perfect for the Miramichi.
They began the process in April, and opened the doors to reLiSH Miramichi in July. After many late nights and long days, they finally had the chance to bring something small, but positive to the community they call home. Angelia’s most enjoyable thing about owning her own business is seeing the smiles on people’s faces when they are welcomed to reLiSH, reLiSHed by the staff, or thanked for coming in.
Angelia recalls a statement by Oprah that expresses experiences in life at this moment. “At different times in our journeys, if we’re paying attention and able to create some luck, we get to sing the song we’re meant to sing in the perfect key of life. Everything we’ve ever done and all we’re meant to do comes together in harmony with who we are. When that happens, we feel the truest expression of ourselves.” If you learn to appreciate everything that happens in your life and the lessons along the way, you’re sure to find your own success; your happiness. Just believe.”

Shawn Cripps
Shawn was born and raised in Sussex, N.B. He graduated from Sussex Regional High School in 1995. He graduated from NBCCSJ in 1997 with a diploma in Business Technology majoring in Accounting. He began his Certified General Accounting (CGA) studies in the fall of 1997 and ended up quitting the program in 2003, having failed more courses than he passed.
During that time, he had begun his employment with Bayview Credit Union in Sussex. He remembered a conversation he had with the branch manager, Terry Craig in early 2004 that changed his life forever. Terry was looking to retire in the coming years and was looking for a possible replacement. Shawn seemed to fit the bill, but didn’t have the experience necessary at the time. Terry said: “In order to be someone in your life, you need to have some letters after your name”. From that point on, education has been his top priority.
He began his university career in the fall of 2004 and graduated from UNB Fredericton in 2007 with a Honours BBA Degree in Accounting with a Concentration in Finance, all of this while still being employed by the credit union. It didn’t take long before Shawn started moving up the ranks of the credit union, as he was promoted to Administration Officer at its head office in Saint John. He decided to give the CGA another shot in the fall of 2007 and completed his designation and experience requirements in 2010.
But he was looking for another challenge and he has found that in the Miramichi. He is now a Senior Accountant with Allen, Paquet & Arseneau LLP. He has also in the final stages of obtaining his Chartered Accounting (CA) designation with full certification being granted in November 2012.
He is also very active in the community. Along with his second term as treasurer of MYPIE, he is also the 2nd vice president of the Rotary Club of Chatham. Shawn is married to his wife Melanie and has two beautiful children, Jeremie age 3 and Emma age 18 months. He is currently residing in Tabusintac.
